Full Mouth Reconstruction with Implants
Full mouth reconstruction with implants is suitable for patients who have lost a significant number of teeth in their upper or lower jaw, or even all their teeth.
A common, but usually unsatisfactory, way to treat an edentulous jaw is to create a conventional full removable denture, colloquially known as "flippers" or "full dentures". Such a solution often brings many problems, such as instability of the denture when speaking and chewing, loss of taste, and last but not least, psychological frustration from removable dentures and toothless mouths.
By placing 4 to 6 implants, it is possible to replace the entire dental arch, as well as the missing gum tissue, while achieving a very good aesthetic result.
How does the treatment proceed?
First Phase: Extraction of Remaining Teeth
In this initial phase, we extract all remaining teeth (loose, decayed, unsuitable, etc.) or roots and allow the bone to heal (usually 2-3 months). During this healing period, a removable denture is made for the patient. Healing then follows for 2 to 3 months.
Price Calculation:
The price of extractions ranges from €60 to €80 per tooth that needs to be extracted. The price of the denture is €650 + adjustment of the denture after the extraction wounds have healed for 2-3 weeks (€100).
Second Phase: Implant Placement
Before the procedure, a CT scan is used to evaluate the bone into which the implant will be placed.
In the upper jaw, we usually place 6 implants; in the lower jaw, we usually place 4 implants.
In cases of significant bone deficiency, it is necessary to augment the bone (with bone substitute material), sometimes several months in advance. However, bone is often augmented during the implant placement itself. The procedure is performed painlessly under local anesthesia.
Healing follows for 2 to 3 months (depending on the implant type). During the healing period, a process called osseointegration occurs, where the surface of the implants is colonized by the body's own bone cells, and the implant literally fuses with the bone.
Implants used in our clinic (one can be chosen):
StraumannSLActive: €820 or Straumann SLA: €720 or Neo Biotech:€550
+ healing cap: €60

Third phase: Bridge fabrication
After successful osseointegration, an impression of the implant positions is taken. This is followed by several trials (3-4 appointments), and the work is usually completed within 2-3 weeks.
Watch the video below:
Alternative 1: All-ceramic bridge with titanium framework
The bridge consists of abutments and crowns (pontics). It is screwed directly onto the implants (if necessary, the prosthetic work can therefore be removed and adjusted at any time).
Price Calculation:
Bridge: number of abutments x 220 € + number of crowns x 380 €
Alternative 2: Composite resin bridge (metal core) on implants (Branemark bridge)
The bridge is made of standard resin like a "denture," but the teeth are composite and the body is metal. Its great advantages are its easy reparability and overall lightness.
The bridge is screwed directly onto the implants (if necessary, the prosthetic work can be removed and adjusted at any time).
Price Calculation:
Lightweight bridge: 3500 €
Simulated price list for complete reconstruction
Situation: edentulous upper jaw
Solution: dental reconstruction with a lightweight bridge anchored on six Straumann SLA implants. Note: a temporary removable prosthesis is made during healing.
First phase: 6x 720 € + 6x 60 € + 650 € = 5330 €
Healing: 2 to 3 months
Second phase: resin composite bridge = 3500 €
Total price: 8830 €
If more affordable Neo Biotech implants (550 €) are used, the total price is 7810 €.
