Consultation
Elenka visited our clinic and confided in us about what bothered her about her smile. We examined her teeth to establish a treatment plan, a timeline for individual sessions, and a cost estimate. After a joint consultation, she left with complete information, a price quotation, and an appointment for her next visit. We decided to create 10 ceramic veneers (from tooth 15 to tooth 25) and whiten the remaining teeth.
What was the treatment procedure?
Dental Hygiene
The first and very important step was to undergo dental hygiene. Dental hygiene is part of comprehensive care, but also a preparatory step before the prosthetic phase itself, which involves preparing and placing ceramic dental veneers.
This treatment also includes tooth sandblasting, meaning teeth are freed not only from tartar but also from pigmentation. Equally important is instruction on proper tooth brushing, which helps establish a habit for correct care of the new ceramic dental veneers, thereby extending their lifespan. Professional dental hygiene remains an important part of prevention even after the veneers are made and placed.
Teeth Whitening
The next step in Elenka's case was teeth whitening. Teeth whitening is an indispensable part of the procedure, as it helps us determine the definitive color of the dental veneers to ensure they are as aesthetic as possible and match the other natural teeth.

Teeth Whitening
Based on a simple impression of Elenka's natural teeth, our dental technician (Matúš Vernarský, TheLab) created a plaster model of her teeth.
On this model, the dental technician sculpted a wax mock-up of the new teeth and created a silicone mold, which allowed us to apply this mock-up directly to Elenka's teeth without any preparation. The mock-up is made of a material that can be easily removed from the teeth, but can also remain on the teeth for some time, allowing for consultation with relatives and friends.
Elenka was very satisfied with the mock-up, so we could proceed with the work. This mock-up also served as a temporary provisional restoration, which we applied to the prepared teeth while the laboratory phase of creating the ceramic veneers was underway.
Tooth Surface Preparation
Dental veneers are thin ceramic restorations that correct the shape and color of teeth. They are often compared to thin shells. Thanks to the properties of the material from which they are made, they can be very thin, allowing us to intervene minimally invasively during the preparation of natural teeth. Such a gentle procedure also allows us to use magnification tools (microscope), which are utilized by both the dentist and the dental technician. The entire tooth preparation procedure for Elenka was performed under local anesthesia, meaning it was painless. After preparing the teeth, we took an impression of the prepared teeth, and then we reapplied the original tooth mock-up to the teeth using a temporary material.
Laboratory Phase of Ceramic Veneer Creation
While Elenka had the mock-up on her prepared teeth, with which she could comfortably smile and eat, dental technician Matúš Vernarský worked in his dental laboratory on creating the definitive veneers. This process typically takes 10 business days.
Delivery of Definitive Dental Veneers
The final phase of placing the prepared ceramic veneers is preceded by a trial fitting of the veneers. Using magnification, we check the correct fit of the veneer on the prepared tooth, as well as its shape, color, and overall aesthetic result. Elenka's satisfaction was the most important aspect for us during the trial. And since we achieved a result with which everyone was satisfied, we could proceed with the placement, and thus the cementation of the dental veneers.
This process, just like the tooth preparation process, takes place under local anesthesia, and is therefore painless. Each dental veneer is cemented individually using a precisely selected shade of cement. After the application, Elenka was again instructed on proper care. She left us satisfied with a beautiful new, radiant smile.
